2 week soak on the wet side.
« on: May 25, 2010, 05:07:25 PM »
I set my cam out on Sunday and I will retrieve it and see what's on it in 2 weeks. First time I've ever set it out on this side of the mountains. I'm looking forward to the results...

I look forward to see what u catch on it as well. I have been waiting to put mine out. I think I will sneek away from the family this Friday to put one out there. Let soak for a month or so. I put the extended battery mod on mine so it should last for a month or more. Not sure if the card will.

Mine's been out three weeks...gonna go check it pretty soon..i cant stand it!

HOpefully, it was better than the last two week soak, where it was up for three days before a bear bent the metal bracket, snapped the lock and tossed it to the forest floor... :chuckle: :bash:

Gotta love bears.

well...........
I had a couple hours to kill so I took my father in law for a walk to get the camera today...got to my tree where the camera was...
no camera.
Some POS walked off with it.
I'm very disappointed in the lack of respect people have for other people's property.

I guess I should have known better than to leave it on public ground in King County.

Man that sucks but to be honest if your not a mile off the trail (aka no one will walk past your cam) you need to lock it. I've heard too many stories of stolen cams.

That does suck buddy. What camera did you have?

Mine isn't locked up either but it is pretty far from civilization and it's a long uphill walk to get to it.

Why can't people see the cameras and just leave them the hell alone?   :bash:

What satisfaction would it be to use a stolen trail camera anyway? Unless the people stealing them are not hunters and just end up selling them on ebay or something.

I just put mine out today, on public land, planned on leaving it for a couple of weeks... but, now I'm not so sure. I may go back and get it next weekend, or at least move it to someplace that's a little more inaccessible. It's only 1/4 mile from a road, but not really in a spot where I'd expect anybody to be walking.

Sorry to hear about that Jackelope. It would kind of take the fun out of any future use of trail cameras, I think.
