YA,  I AGREE.  BUT,  I STILL WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SHOOT THEM DURING THE SEASON WITH A PELLOT GUN, RIGHT?

Technically no, but I don't think its as bad as shooting them out of season.

Yeah, you especially shouldn't be shooting them during nesting season.  :bdid:

Just stick the muzzle out the window and shoot them in their little bobbled head, wait a while and then go retrieve them, I suggest cleaning them inside.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I hope I have company in my amazement at the overall tone of this post.  California Quail are one of the neatest game birds we have in this state.  The encouragement to SSS these during difficult nesting conditions bothers me as a sportsman.  This is why we so often get a bad name as  hunters  when we smirk off comments like some of the ones in this thread.

Leave them alone.  Hunt them correctly in hunting season, like a true sportsman.

They do make an air powered shotgun, not sure of specs
, but it shoots a small plastic shot shell. Not even sure of what size shot is available or if you load your own. Come legal season on a legit flushed bird it might be kinda fun to try. Not a very long shot string, but it sure isn't gonna travle very far.

Try a scare crow that should keep the quail out of the garden, or better yet give them some food else where on the property!!

I had a couple Quails  :P in my yard the other night. Watched them walk around and then leave. Not sure why you would want to poach them...  :dunno:

;)  I WOULD NEVER SHOOT A QUAIL OUT OF SEASON...  OR ILLEGALLY.  THATS WHY I STARTED THIS THREAD, (TO FOUND OUT IF THERE IS ANY DIFFERENT RULES ABOUT SHOOTING THEM ON YOUR PROPERTY)  SINCE I WOULD BE ILLEGAL TO SHOOT THEM OUT OF SEASON OR WITH A PELLOT GUN, THEN WE WILL FIND ALTERNATIVE MEANS OF THINNING THEM OUT.   :bash: :bash:
