Slick Trick or Shuttle T.
« on: May 28, 2010, 06:38:54 PM »
I have ruled out the G5 Stryker.  Just couldn't get it to tune right.  By the time I got it to hit with my field tips my nock point was WAYYYY too low for my liking.  So now I am torn between buying the Slick Trick Magnum or the Shuttle T.  Does anybody have any input or pictures of entry and exit wounds.  Since they are not a "Famous" brand I cant find any pics, videos or many reviews on them.  So I figured I'd ask the expert.  YOU!!!.  So lets have it.  Which one?  Any comments?

no pics of either of damage from either of these broadheads but have had excellent luck with the magnuss ss. i once shot a elk with the slicktrick and it sheared off my arrow right where the ferrule meets the arrow not going to use them again. just curious what happened to the rearend of that buck.

Wow, where'd you hit the elk at?

I shot a Slick Trick into a piece of I Beam with my Hoyt Vuclan and all it did was mushroom the tip of the broadhead and shove the it back into my arrow.  Also had great performance on the bull I shot last year...

I have not shot either of those heads but I have never heard a bad thing about shuttle T.  My dad shot a deer with the slick tricks and it did the trick just fine.  If you like the styker style you might look into some wac'ems.  I shot 2 deer and an elk with them last year and didn't have a problem with them.

I shot shuttle t's last year and the only bad thing I have to say about them is the price. I just bare shaft tuned my bow and of the 4 different brands of broadheads I shot all 4 hit the same spot as my field tips. I think I will be going to the slick trick grizz tricks this year because they are cheaper, sharper, larger cutting diameter, and some of the entrance/exit wounds I've seen are amazing.

I would vote for Shuttle T.  I have taken two elk with them and the results were fantastic.

just curious what happened to the rearend of that buck.

I was just starting to skin him and noticed the hole that was left by the Shuttle T and decided to take a pic

I have seen the damage created from a slick trick and am changing to them. They hold up well on elk,and the blood trails created are down right impressive.I hear good things about shuttle t's as well, but have never seen the results.

I haven't used either but have considered the shuttle T.  I haven't been able to get away from Magnus Stingers or Snuffers SS yet because they fly really well.

I vote Shuttle T's.

I still have a small comfort zone (out to about 40yds).  The 4 deer I've taken so far have been under 40 yds and all were pass throughs.  Left a nice blood trail to follow.

Another thing I like about them is they fly just like my field points.  If I want to switch back and forth I have no problems.  I had some Muzzy's that once I got them tuned and switched to field points I'd have to make adjustments.

Slick Tricks.  They're cheaper.  They fly just as well.

Thanks for all the input everybody.  I finally went with the Slick Trick based on price.  They didn't fly as true compared to my field points as I'd hoped they would but they do fly well.  I'll let y'all know how they do on hogs this year.  I plan on trying some other broadheads as well.
