I use Gun-Kote on most of the builds that I do for customers. Prep work is the key to getting the results that they claim. Blasting, degreasing all comes into play. I built a special oven that allows up to a 36" barreled action to be done. Use an airbrush to apply the finish. Follow the instructions to the letter, and it is an awesome finish. I have several customers in Alaska that I have built rifles for that leave them on their boats. No rust or corrosion at all. Definitely a must here in the Northwest for sure.A side note, I bake them at 350 degrees for 1hr 15min. This gives a harder more durable finish from what I have experienced.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.
