Stealth camera customer service
« on: July 09, 2010, 10:20:29 AM »
Just got off the phone with Stealth about my camera.  I have the  540IR.  Takes great pictures.  Last year it worked perfect.  My memory card would be full and still have battery power.  This year, I set it up in May and two weeks later checked on it.  Battery dead and memory card not full.  Put it up June 6th and last picture was June 11th.  Battery dead again and plenty room on memory card.  Called them today because they did not answer my email from Monday ( states answers in 48 hrs) :chuckle:.  The lady told me the batteries could be bad due to them being shipped to the stores because of heat or cold :puke:.  She said obviously there is nothing wrong with camera and that I should by a 12volt from them :bs:.  I told her I don't buy the whole shipping BS.  I have it set up exactly the same way as last year and I had no problems with it.  Going to check on this Sunday and I will see how it is.  She told me that they don't sell that camera anymore so they wont work on it and the warranty is no good.   :pee:

Would love to buy a new one.  But I also think that people should know about crappy :crap: service and companies not backing their products.  Maybe 400out will get me a new one.

I've had bad experiences with just about every manufacturer's camera.  I just returned one to Moultrie last month and the new one failed as well.  They are sending me a third one.  Bushnell replaced my Trophy Cam when it failed last year.  I was disappointed in Cuddyback and even the Leaf River.

What is interesting is how much the prices have recently dropped.  Check out the latest Cabela's catalog.  Models that were $200+ last year are now in the $130 to $160 range.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear that anyone has figured out how to make one of these work well and last much more than a year or two.

That is what is dissapointing.  You spend decent money on a product and it doesn't last.  That is good sales there.  Keep them buying more.  I am really interested in the Primos.  They have gotten good reviews.  But your right prices are going down.

That is very discouraging.  :bash: I own 5 of these cameras.  I haven't had any issues so I hope your case was just an isolated incident...sorry for your experience :mor:.  I have had great battery life and awesome pictures.  Good to know what kind of experience you had dealing with them.  I will keep that in mind for my next purchase.  Appreciate the post, thanks for looking out!

I always remind companies that when I buy their products, they are buying my advertising...word of mouth is good or bad, it's their choice and they own it!
