Trapping year round.

Been slaughtering the starlings lately but noticed that every morning I would have less birds in the mulch pile than the night before.  I set out my cage trap and put a bird in it but the next morning the bird was gone and the trap was not triggered.  There was a pretty well worn trail from a gap in my fence but it was too small for a opossum or raccoon, it must be a rat.  I set the trap in the trail and added a few more birds to the pile.  Second night out and got one.

Its WAR!!!    Got another one.  Its funny I have had traps set up around the rabbit hutch since I got them thinking that the hay and food pellets would attract the rodent.  Have not caught or seen rats or mice until I started killing starling.

  :chuckle:nice work kain..Ive cleared out my wood shed of the vermin..there are some spiders in there Im sure would run off with the traps.spray time those things are huge

Last couple nights.  I really didnt know I had such a problem with them.

Number five.  Jeez I had no idea there were so many rats around.  Im not even baiting the traps.  I am just setting them on the trails in compost pile.

Reminds me of my place.  I noticed some rat poop in the dog kennel one morning so I proceeded to trap it every night and I caught at least one every night.  We live right up against a greenbelt in the city and I think they nest there and head out into town at night fall.  I eventually stopped because the traps were starting to add up but I must have trapped around 30.  The biggest was HUGE, should of taken a pic, I showed the better half and now she wont go in the back at night

30?!!!    Maybe I should go get more traps.     The good news is that they all look pretty clean.  No fleas or growths or anything.

Hey Kain that second to last rat has a real nice coat on him.  You should get him mounted or rugged!
