The Destroyer!!
« on: May 23, 2010, 11:19:45 AM »
So yesterday I went traveling all over looking at bows. As many of ya'll probably know, Cabelas has the worst selection hands down. Any way, buy the time I got to sportco I had shot the Maxxis, Z7, Primal, Pantera and a few others. I had seen the new Bowtech's before but hadnt heard to much about them. There technology had always scared me. So many deferent moving parts and crazy designs had shied me away from them.
I told all this to the guy behind the counter, and he kinda chuckled. He said just come back here and shoot it a few times then tell me what you think about them.
Let me be the first to tell you I was WRONG! Those Destroyers are flippin amazing! They are sooooooo fast. Quiet. And have zero vibration shock. Im telling you guys Im sold!!

So do any of ya'll have one yet? Im wanting to get some more input before I drop the $850!

Haven't shot the Destroyer yet but love my Admrial.  I don't think you can go wrong with any of the mid to upper bows that are out these days.

i have shot a lot of bowtechs over the years and seen a lot come into the local shop. but the destroyer is the only bow from them that i would trust enought to buy i still prefer my x force over it but they are a good bow and seem to be holding up well. and all the forms have nothing but good things to say. i have shot 2 diffrent bows setup totaly diffrent and both shot nice. but i still don't know if i would ever own one.

I have the 340 and a 2008 Guardian.  Never had a problem with either bow.  Both are amazingly quiet and the 340 actually has a better draw cycle and is 20+ fps faster.  Shooting 60lbs with 29" dl.  Putting my 362 gr arrows out at 304 fps.

I've owned a Bowtech Patriot VFT and now have a Guardian, both have been great bows and I have had no problems with either bow.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

I own the 340 and it is amazing! I get more speed at 65lbs than I did with 70lbs with my old bow without losing any of the good stuff. No shock, quiet and very easy to draw and shoot. Plus it looks sweet. 8) You forget that your shooting a speed bow. Dont worry about the price, you wont ever miss the money once you start to shoot it! I got mine from sportco too, nice guy behind the counter.

I have had 3 Bowtech's. The 2003 Patriot Dually, 2006 Allegiance, and a 2009 82nd Airborne. Out of the 3 bows I liked the Allegiance the best. It was a great shooting bow. The Patriot Dually comes in second. It was a nice bow also. I have been shooting the 82nd Airborne since last December of 2008 and It is ok but not as nice as the other 2 bows. I love tthe Bowtechs though. I don't think I would get any other brand of bow. I am also thinking of getting the Destroyer this summer.

I own the Destroyer 350.  I purchased a 70lb bow with a 29" draw.  If I thought about it, I could have purchased a 60lb and still had great speed and lighter pull with an easier hold.  Just a thought to consider.
The 350 has a 6" brace height, while the 340 has a 7" brace height.  The 7" brace height is more forgiving.

I own a Hoyt AM32 and I love it.  That being said I think the Destroyer 340 is a better bow.  It is almost as smooth, as my Hoyt, the 340 has NO shock and shoots about 20 fps faster.  Basically you are getting a speed bow that shoots like a smooth bow. Oh its also by far the quitest bow I've ever shot.  IMHO if I could switch I would. The 340 IMHO is the BEST bow on the market today!

I pulled the trigger and bought the 340 several months ago and have had zero problems after putting about 1500 arrows down range thus far.  Prior bow was a 2003 BowTech Black Knight and there is a huge difference between these bows.  340 is very light, easy draw, almost zero hand shock, quiet.  Set-up is 60lb limbs with 29" draw and throws a 27.5" 425 Grn arrow 269 Fps; should be plenty to get the job done if I do everything I'm supposed to do.  Never had to use BowTech warranty as I've never had an issue with their product so I cannot provide any testament there.  Good luck if you decide this is the bow for you.
