i am a huge nosler fan and shoot the partitions out of almost all my guns so that would be my choice barnes are great as well shoot which one groups the best and you should be just fine. i shoot the 120 threw my 25-06 and would have no problem wackin a bear with that and they are pretty close to each other.

No experince useing the 257wby on bears yet but I hope to use it this year on a bear. I'm loading 110gr accubonds. So far I've only used the 300RUM and 7mm rem mag on bears.

I own a 257 Wby MAG, never shot a Bear with it yet but I wouldn't hesitate for a second. My choice would be the 120gr Nosler Partition moving at 3300 fps I think that would put a big hurt on just about anything here in the lower 48 Black Bear included.

My friend hunts elk with a 100 grain TSX out of his 257 Wby.  He's never had a problem.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

I'm a big fan of the .257 roy, and wouldn't hesitate to use it on deer but I wouldn't use it for bear.  Maybe i'm under-estimating my shooting ability but bears are really tough critters. On the other hand I've seen guys bear hunting with lever action 30-30's and 44 mag's.  Both I'm sure have killed plenty of bears but I'm a fan of using WAY too much gun to dispatch animals........just me though.

I know a guy over in Graham that smoked one of the largest black Bears I have ever seen with a 260 Rem so if it can be done with that caliber it can easily be done with a 257 Wby Mag.

I'd shoot the 120 partition or a Accubond. I have a buddy that has taken a few elk with his .257 Wby and they died quick. You just got to hit'em where they live!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!
