My CZ redhead broke!

had an interesting incident at the range last night.
This shotgun is about a year old and has had about 200 shells cycled through it over its lifespan. It has been well cared for and is excellent condition. I was at the range the other night getting ready to shoot a line of trap, and the gun did not want to break open. I removed the fore grip and the action was then able to open. As it came open a little piece of broken metal fell out. Further investigation found that the piece that fell out was a portion of a metal plate that appears to have snapped off the part of the action that locks the barrels into place when the action is closed. This represents about 60% of the surface area used to lock the action closed being unavailable. Shooting the gun I would assume would not be safe at this point as I would think the action might come open during the act of firing a shell.
When looking at the metal, you can see that the location where the break occurred seems to have been a hairline crack in the metal that must have occurred during the manufacturing process. You can see the metal is discoloured on both the portion of the metal still in the action as well as the piece that fell out.
I have a note out to CZ to see if they will take care of this. Hoping they will!

I'm sure they will stand behind behind their product. I dont think they will give you a run around like Rugar did to me on two of their O/Us that both broke with less than 25 shells through them.

I'll report back with thier input. this crack has been there since the part was made in my opinion. The gun is only about a year old.

Well, after one week and sending 4 emails asking for permission, I located a phone number and called in. They gave me a return Authorization and said to send it in. But I am not really impressed with their responsiveness to date. hopefully it gets better from this point on.

Thought I would close this thread out.
Not overly impressed with CZ's customer support, but they did the job.
I recieved the shotgun back repaired on Friday 8/6.
Pros:
-They did it under warentee at no charge
-The techs in Kansas that i spoke to were helpful
Cons:
-I sent muliple e-mails to them asking for assitance in the begining using the address on their web page and to this day have not recieved a reply.
-They sent me a card in the mail stating they received my gun and it would be 4-6 weeks for warrantee work to be done... and to please not contact them until that time period had passed (which seemed rude although I understand the purpose)
-I mailed the gun out to them on 6/17 and it arrived on 8/6. Seven weeks and one day from the day I sent it in. When you factor out shipping time it was pretty much within the 4-6 week window they quoted, however that is a LONG time - If you include the week I blew trying to reach them via mail it was over 2 months from begining to end. When my buddy had an issue with a savage rifle, they had it taken care of in less than a week total.
Overall, I give them a C. Work was done, but the service left a lot to be desired.

Given CZ's reputation for good work, I expected better.
Hard to complain too much when they did the work at no cost, but the service does not stack up to other companies.

I dealt with them and called the number right away, did everything over the phone and they really bent back for me. I had a broken stock. They sent me 3X nicer stock than original... Premium grade - for free of course.
