Thanks for the quick responses guys and sorry about not giving an introduction.  I'm active duty military I got stationed here about 2 months ago.  I grew up hunting, fishing and trapping in Michigan.

It's not an "if" for me. ;) I already only own only 1 rifle for deer/elk, and eventually I plan to use it for bear as well. It's a stevens 200 .30-06 with a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 scope. If money were not a factor I would probably go with some uber expensive high end rifle and scope, but I would stay with the same chambering. Personally I don't see the need to pound my shoulder any harder than the .30-06. Maybe some day if I decide I want to hunt anything bigger or more dangerous than bear I might go for something that packs more oomph though.

I love lever guns and magnum's, so my gun of choice is my BLR lightweight stainless 300 WSM with a VXL 3.5-10 x 50.

Browning A-bolt in 30-06, lupy fixed 6x, nothing fancy. Just functional.

If I was to only use one gun for all the hunting for the rest of my life it would be a Rem. 700 in 7mm Mag.
I use the 7mag most anyway and feel its covers about any hunting situation I'll be in just fine.

I would have to go with my Browning A-Bolt II hunter in .325WSM with it's Leupold 2.5-8x36 VXIII shooting 220gr powerpoints.
