Another What is it?
« on: June 16, 2010, 09:34:44 PM »
I pulled my camera from by bear honey hole and moved it closer to home. It is still an hour walk behind a closed gate. I'm on the fence to what this is, a small bear or big cougar? It's the only pic I got of it so we may never know.

not a deer. prob a dog or a black cougar. Its tough to say. I would have to agree with the hair being to short for a bear.

It's probably 6-7 miles from the nearest house so I ruled out dog, but you never know. :dunno:

The shoulder muscles make me think coug, but it seems too dark.  :dunno:

If you stand in the same spot and get a photo of yourself, you can get an idea of how tall that shoulder is.  I would say cougar or deer depending on the height.

I don't know what it is but it sure doesn't look like a deer to me. I think it's a bear.

Looks just like a deer's back to me, that was my first thought and after studying it for a while my same conclusion. I don't see the dark people are describing and deer have pretty muscular backs. I say deer. Mike
