If you have to ask if it is truly a quality hunt. Then yes please dont apply. Leave it to the guys that have YEARS of experience on the area and know what it is to draw one of those tags. I am in aw that you would even ask that question and not expect to get bashed.

I am in awe that I would get bashed.Because of it.
But if that makes me an *censored*.Its ok.I can deal with it.After all,if the draw holds up.I'm the one with the tag.And judging from the responses its really is a pretty special one.

I guess I just dont think like a lot of people.I would be happy for anybody that drew any tag.And do what I could to help them out.Pretty much no matter the circumstances.to each their own.

The Entiat tag is a great one for sure. After seeing the results of the Swakane rifle tags the last couple years on here, I don't think I'll be putting in for that one in the future. I've never put in for either of them FYI. I hunted the Swakane archery season last year and it was a great time but I think the weather is too late for the Swakane rifle special permit time frame.

I had an idea of what I my have.Although its not a given yet.As the draw isnt official.

Like I said,my Brother in law has hunted it a lot.I know others that have hunted it.And yes,Entiat is a pretty well known area.Maybe I just didnt quite grasp the whole concept of how special that tag could be.

I feel really fortunate to draw ant tag I get.Ive been applying for permits since I was 9 years old.Thats 42 years of applications. And Ive drawn a grand total of 2 tags. Those were elk.And maybe this 1 deer tag.

So I will put the effort into this to make it worth my while.

Wow. I can't believe some of the people on here. Bitching because someone drew a tag where they never hunted before. Unless these people have hunted the exact same spot their whole lives then they are hypocrites. Even then the first time they hunted that spot they had never hunted there before. Should they have a requirement that you scout 16 weeks a year for 5 years before you can put in for that spot? So unless you've never hunted a new spot quit Bitching. Even then quit Bitching. K done ranting. And for the record I didn't draw *censored*.

I would give my left nut for them to do that. That would weed them out quick. Maybe i would have a fighting chance then.

Lots of anticipation and high hopes waiting for the draws to come out and lots of dissapointment when they do.I hope those who did draw have the best hunt of there lives and maybe next year can help one of us unlucky ones get pointed in the right direction if we get drawn next year.

HntnFsh,

I wouldn't worry about some of the comments you've received. Everyone who enjoys hunting derserves a chance at a quality hunt, not just those who live and breath hunting 24/7.  There are hunts for those people who want to separate themselves from the "average joes" by purely hard work, effort and planning....the high hunt being one of them.  Not to mention, I'm sure some of the guys giving you a hard time are applying for great tags all over the West that I guarantee you they haven't hunted before or scouted yet.  Kinda doubt people will fly down to New Mexico to scout before they apply for a tag!  So good luck, hope you get one for the record books!

I agree with some of the "Quality" hunts, but there are others in that category that are nothing more then a longer season. No real chance at a true trophy, but definately less competition.
