Desert doe?
« on: June 19, 2010, 07:41:48 AM »
In looking over the unofficial results, I was picked for second deer in the desert unit. I know it was the desert unit since that was the only one I applied for. In December, how often do you see does in that unit?

Certainly plent enough to fill your tag the first day unless you are looking for a trophy doe!

Shouldn't be an issue to get a doe in that unit.  I went along on a buck hunt a couple of years ago (didn't draw, I just carried binoculars and a spotting scope) and we saw plenty of deer.  It was a little earlier in the year, but I don't think that those deer are going anywhere.

Good luck!  Keep an eye out for some really big bucks - even if you can't hunt them they are still really cool to see.

No problem getting a doe in the desert unit, tons of public land. If you can't find one pm me I'll give you a hand.
