i hunted it last year with my cousin by marriage and his younger brother who had the youth moose tag. if you look back threw you might be able to find the pics and story from last year. it was a blast he got his cow first thing in the morning then shot a cow elk with a muzzle loader that eve as well what a day. he had never even killed a deer before and got a moose and elk same day
it was a blast and to see the look on his face was somthing i will never forget. if you have any questions you can shoot me a pm and i can tell you were we hunted at if you don't know the unit i would be glad to help the best i can. congrats to him a lot of great meat

yeah it was crazy for sure rifle moose first thing in the morning then i wanted to rest from taking care of the cow and they wanted to go out and it was muzzy elk season and we had 5 days left up there to look for a elk and we had never been in that area before other then a scout trip they did, and about the last hour of the day he busted a cow elk with the muzzle loader what a long day
then i was excitied we could do some bear hunting and they drug me back home the next day
we drove up there like 6 hour drive next day got the moose and elk then the next day drove home about another 6 hours
way to much driving
in that time period o and i shot a grouse
but it was a sweet trip. it was me his brother him and his dad a great trip

Jeremiah had 2 points. Its going to be a good time. We are making our first trip over there in september to drop off the trailer at our uncles house and do some scouting. Its nice to have relatives where you draw a permit thats 6 hours away from home.

My son drew the tag too. He also got one of the two Pine Mt. Ranch buck tags. He had 6 points. I'm going to look up these old posts, don't know anything about the area. I expect we will have some moose in the locker this fall though.

Yes on Saturday morning of the 2nd weekend. get yourself an Inland empire paper company permit to hunt there land and head up the Thompson creek drainage you will find all the cow moose you want. Look for bulls early in the season they will be in the rut and there will be a cow close by. I bought 2 spools of 1/2 rope 600' each that along with a pulley and a small chain saw should get your cow pulled out to a road. Oh and 2 talkabouts to communicate while pulling. PM me when you have a map and I will tell you right where we seen all our moose. Mark
