While hunting my late hunt this year we saw about 12 spikes. One seemed a little bit different. He was a spike with eye guards. He was a little toad of a buck. As far as I could tell and remember he was a yearling though. Anyway that looks like an awesome find. You must have a great eye.

it's a 21" long mule deer spike, kinda cool.
