Any suggestions for Elk in the Toutle
«

Hi folks,
First timer here and was wondering if anyone has any tips or ideas for the Toutle area this September season? I managed to draw an Any Bull Tag for bow and I'm pretty excited, based on things I've heard.
I have the Weyerhaeuser Tree Farm map from Arnold's Maps that lists the Toutle boundaries nicely. I'm heading out this Sunday (finally have some warm, dry weather around here) to do some scouting.
If anyone has any tips or suggestions I'd really appreciate it. I'm thinking of starting out at Cougar and head up the boundary via Merrill Lake.
Looking forward to a great season!
Cheers,
Chris.

Remember the gates will probably be closed for bow season. Where you gonna camp? Check out old posts - lots of good info there. If you don't tie one up give me a pm.

If gates are closed look at the public land on Rock Creek off of 503. Know the boundry before going.

check your pm's. x marks the spot. 4 bulls killed in that cut during MF '08. That whole drainage below it is thick with elk, its mostly thicker reprod, but there's a couple newer cuts that can be accessed from the south side.
