Now is the time to knock on doors & offer to help with chores. Or Krispy kreme donuts ? Figure a way to get some permission. Maybe hit the local bar & buy some beers and casually say out loud " Damn I have no place to hunt this fall ". Just don't wait for the last minute. Good luck. Mike
good luck lots of tree huggers
Your best shot is going to be the larger landowners such as farmers, not the lil old lady who has 5 or 10 acres. I got the Vashon-Maury second deer tag, these island tags tend to be easy to get but unless you know somebody they can be hard to fill![/quote Maybee I can help you. Go to the K2 factory they have a huge chunck of land they let my friend brady hunt there 2 years ago. He got a very nice 4x4 126p&y the first day. Good luck and thank you.I may be able to hunt a winery(sundays only) when its closed. lets hope
I would make a few drives out there and visit the feed/nursery/hardware stores and put a flier up on the bulletin board. Then I would drive around and write down addresses, when I got home send a self addressed stamped envelope along with a letter introducing yourself, and asking permission.Stop in at Real Estate office, and ask for a map, Once upon a time a freiend got all the low-down from an agent on where to go, she (the agent) HATED deer, as she had wrecked 3 vehicles, and couldn't grow anything in her garden.....
Not much public land... and way too many tree huggers. I have been out here for 30 years and its hard for me to even get a place to hunt. I gained permission last year to 80 acres with the promise of it would just be me and the kids, only to continue to find trespassers hunting it. WHen I approached them, they of course all thought bit was "public" because it wasn't posted... be very careful the sheriff will come quickly if you are caught trespassing. Last year some lady down by Greenbank leased out her 50 acres to 4 or 5 people. I don't agree with that but its getting tough here with everyone developing the land. Get down around south of Coupeville and knock on doors... big farms and any place with apple trees... Might even stop by the Tyee tavern and have a drink and just mention that you are scouting for deer....
