Wolves near Packwood/Randle?

I don't follow the wolf threads so forgive me if this has come up before.

Has anyone heard anything about wolves in the Randle/Packwood area? A coworkers son mentioned he saw large canine tracks in the snow last season up near Jugg Lake. He followed them for a bit but then turned back to elk hunting. He said the tracks were definately canine and they headed up the mountain. There were no human tracks.

Lots of threads going about wolves in Bumping lake, white pass and nile area.... there might be something to this as all are , what about withing 60 miles or so as the bird flies? i think someone should  one so we get some confirmation on this....    I dont see why not, if the WDFW and the granola tree huggers have such a *censored* for having wolves in washington.... i think they are already there

I know yotes, and I know I saw BIG "dog" tracks in the snow, not cougar tracks, about 5 miles from any human, near St. Helens.  This was about 15 yrs ago.  My dad saw the same thing.  All we could think of was some big sheppard or lab was just going for a stroll.  Was probably 30 miles s.west of bumping (just guessing).  I've always thought I could run into one someday out there.  Also, just north of Bumping, we saw a bear, but after thinking about it, we now think it was a wolverine.  It ran funny, was the exact color of a wolverine, and the same size, we were about 300 yards from it.  This was about 20 yrs ago.  I still hope to see one again too, along with the black fox I saw in the same canyon...  Someday again!

There are no wolves around there, only big coyotes

i know back in the 90's my dad and my uncle would pack in about 10 miles with the horses and do archery elk. they were hunting close to packwood and they saw and herd wolves up there.

If you see trail cameras registered to the WDFW or DNR there probably keeping tabs on the wolves that are not there.

i was just told that some wolves were dropped off somewhere out of packwood towards white pass and also up the 23rd probably up towards st helens some where. has anyone else heard of this?

Biologist that did the cat study here in cle elum, said there are a few south of the taneum, they do "think" there are any breeding pairs

My dad and friends/uncles hunted that area extensively south of Packwood lake back toward Goat Rocks in the 60's and 70's. I hunted there in the mid/late 70's and back then even though I never put eyes on one myself, there were plenty of undocumented sigtings. The gamie's would just blow everybody off, but I have to believe that the possibility existed then, as there were more than one set of tracks in the snow that just couldn't be Coyotes.

about Five years ago the state released  five wolves near snoqualmie sumit . I'm sure they never made it and if they did who knows where they are now. If the game dept dosn't reconize wolves in an area they must be big yotes -shoot em right.
