Kahlotus gmu 381?
« on: June 28, 2010, 10:30:51 PM »
My buddy drew the Kahlotus gmu 381 tag. It's new this year. Anyone have some tips for scouting this summer? Winging it will work but a couple of pointers is alway's helpful. What type of trophy potential in this unit? It is right in the middle of Nov. so the rut should be in full swing. Thanks, Highside

That can be a great hunt if you get some permission on property. If you hold out on all the little ones, it is possible for a 150-160 class buck out of there. Talk to the farmers this summer and offer to help them fix fences or whatever. Also if you are a coug fan that helps also. Good luck.

not too many anymore... there are still a few good ones but the late muzzy hunt out there for the last several years have really taken their toll. potential is there for a great one but not what it used to be.

lots of private ground out there, but if you can get access should be a fun hunt, start checking now, as was said before, that muzzle hunt got popular fast, most of the property owners will say they dont care if you kill a doe but they will want the bucks left alone, so they can hunt em in the general season, at least that is the what my buddy got when he went up there
