Just found out that my son and hunting partner drew for cow elk tags in the Boisie Cascade Tree Farm outside of Burbank. I will be out of comisiion a couple months do to surgery as you well know but when I am up and moving might have a change to hunt yotes out in the tree farm. Heard of bobcats and cougars too out there.
ELK TAG??  I'VE HUNTED COYOTES AROUND THE BOISIE CASCADE TREE FARMS QUITE A BIT,  NEVER KNEW THERE WERE ELK THERE   :dunno:
There is a big herd in the trees. They come out during the night and feed in Simplots circles. Have seen several branched antler bulls in the trees and the circles next to the trees. Just have to find the cows this time around.
Nothing like a Remington model 700xcr.

You may want to contact SWAG.  He is on here now and again, has the knowledge and equipment..... send him a PM.  Also as a bonus, he'll never give you crap about missing.  That would be the pot having a convo with the kettle... :chuckle: :chuckle:

I spent 2 years working in those trees, the ratio of bulls to elk are about 8 to 1.  some of the bulls copare in size to the Hanford Herd bulls.  Cows are going to be a challenge, on that farm in early Aug. the bulls will be hanging out in the 5-10 foot trees with a few cows but the majority of the cow are in the big timber. You don't really begin to see them come out until Early Oct.
