I'll let the WDFW deal with your illegal baiting activities, thats their job, but I will however let you know that its not real bright to bait them into your backyard.  :chuckle:  Make sure you get a little peanut butter on your hand and open the backdoor with it.

and for the record, deer "REALLY" like maple bars. :chuckle:

ha ha ha To be honest i had no intentions of seeing a bear on my camera. dad said he had never seen one on the property in 30 years.  it was pretty cool to see something a lil different than the same 8 deer and racoons and 1 coyotee.
however i plan on not seeing him again as food supply for all animals is getting expensive and we are gonna take a break from our lil feed station i think.
besides i have bigger fish to fry come ELK archery season.   :IBCOOL: :hello:
time to get the camera on some elk....

Sure hope you don't plan on hunting that bear.  Illegal to bait Bears even to a trail cam.

It's not illegal to bait for pictures. Here is a response from WDFW Police:

Quote
There is nothing in the regulations regarding baiting to take pictures.  More than likely such activity would trigger investigation by an officer if found.  Make sure that you, or anyone else that may accompany you does not have a firearm in his/her possession.

Very few of you guys responding to this post even saw the original 2 posts that BWB started this thread with.  He posted 2 seperat groups of photos.  The first which everyone is seeing now and another group of the peanut butter, apple, trout, and I believe chocolate syrup that he added to his deer feeding station.  Considering he has deleted atleast 7 posts there really is no point in this thread, but i feel I need to clear some things up.

BWB made the comment in his post something like "time to fatten this boy up".   I do not remember the exact wording.  That comment led me to believe he may have wanted to shoot it when season came around.  That is why I made this comment!

Sure hope you don't plan on hunting that bear.  Illegal to bait Bears even to a trail cam.

It seams as though BWB does NOT intend to hunt this bear.

I wasn't calling him out or trying to stir the pot.  Giving him a friendly warning.  No one can know all the laws.  This is partly what a forum is for.  For advice.  Seams also that some of you take any kind of advice as pot stirring and calling people out.  Something to laugh at.  Yeah, real funny!

It is illegal to bait bears into a trail camera in an area you plan to hunt bears.  Even if you pull the bait a few days before season opens.  There is a grey area when it come to distance you can hunt from an area you have baited or how long after you pull the bait can you hunt an area.  It does not mention anything like that in the regs so that pretty much leaves it up the the officer doing the investigation.  +

it is legal to bait deer and elk to hunt and if you have a trail camera set for them its not your fault if a bear shows up
just don't shoot a bear from there
Maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong but instead you breathe, walk away, and let life take care of them.

There are no regulations regarding the placement of bait to take pictures of bears.  However, be careful.  Make sure that you do not have in your possession any firearm because if confronted by an officer, he/she may determine that you may be hunting black bears with the aid of bait.  A violation.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
