Best 3X9X40 for under $300
« on: July 01, 2010, 12:39:02 PM »
Can anyone recommend a brand/ model 3X9x40 scope in the $150-$300 dollar range? I have purchased the Nikons in the past and had good luck with them. That was many years back so I'm interested to hear what you all are buying as of late.

Leupold VX II would come in at the upper end of that range, could check a pawn shop and find one in the $200 range probably.  Just no way you can go wrong with a Leupy. :twocents:
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Burris Fulfield II imo is the best bang for your buck scope, I like the leupolds but would for out the extra cash for a vxIII. I like the burris over the vxII.  :twocents:

I have Burris Fullfield II.  The only issue I have with mine is when you adjust the magnification the whole rear objective rotates with it. A real PITA if ya use scope covers. Other than that it is a good clear scope, although my next scope will not have a ballistic compensator gauge on it. I would rather just use the good old fashion cross hairs.

I also like the Burris FullField II. I think it transmits light better than the VXI and VXII. Its in my opinion the best bang for your buck.

I have many Leopolds, but I honestly beleive Nikon has sharper glass than even a VX-III. However, if you buy Leopold I think you are supporting american workers.  :twocents:

Your money?....Leupold
My money?....Bushnell Elite 4200 or Nikon Team Primos.
