Little Pathfinder's Fishing Trip
« on: July 06, 2010, 12:28:17 PM »
Took the family up to Kettle Falls this weekend to visit Grandma and do a little fishing.  Little Pathfinder had a great time.  First we discovered worms, which are right up there with fish on the "cool scale".  Went to Deadman Creek, and fished a few pools (not as much as I had planned-the brush was too thick for the little guy to negotiate), then went up to Davis Lake for something that would be a bit easier.  No luck there, as some bad weather moved in, so we called it quits for the day.
The next morning my sister and her family showed us a spot on the Colville River where we could catch some Browns.  No bigguns, but we sure had a blast.  I think it is safe to say that Little Pathfinder is hooked on fishing... ;)

Thanks guys.  Because of the difference in age (8 years), I haven't had to worry about competitiveness (yet).  The 11 year old is very helpful to his little brother.  The problem is that the little guy has no idea that he's not 11... :chuckle:

Gonna be a banner year for huckleberries (unless a hailstorm knocks them off or something).  The bushes were loaded.  Of course, just like everything else over here, they look like they are about 2 weeks behind schedule.  No bear sign, but we didn't hike much with the little guy.
