Here's the custom rustic cabinet I picked up today. Anyone interested in these I'd be happy to refer you to the builder, he's a great guy and has done a lot of work for us.

One last note, he can do a double door cabinet for only around $800 that will hold 12-14 guns, pretty much whatever you want.

Dman, what is that stand to the left of your gun cabinet? Looks like a map case? Beautiful wood there Dman.

Exactly, it's a map chest with sliding drawer's, all the furniture in the picture is "blued" Ponderosa Pine. The guy who makes it, you may have heard of his place -Log Cabin Creations in North Bend. Andre is the owner, you won't find a better guy, or a more skilled woodworker.

Very cool, I will check it out next time in North Bend. I have been looking for some tops like your map case to make some end tables and benches for the outside patio.

Nice! I enjoy that type of rustic decore. We have a log bed, chest of drawers and two night stands that look very similar. I'm gonna have to build me a map chest! That's a useful piece of funiture right there!

He is higher on some items, compared to other's. I compared his price on the map chest to several mail order kind's and he was lower, same with the gun cabinet, I saw several wood gun cabinet's in an SCI issue for 3-5k. Tables and bookshelves are a little higher ballpark.

I'm not going to say he isn't high priced or even sometimes overpriced but when you do buy his higher end stuff you are getting better quality and unique work when compared to his run of the mill stuff. Still not sure it's always worth the price but if you like that sort of furniture he's been at it a long time. He even helped us move a few things.

Very true, I also like to learn from his work, so I can do smaller scale stuff for myself someday. Many don't know this but his son Mike fish's Nootka alot and his wife is the one that has made the F&H news cover twice with big king's in the last year or so. I talk with Mike a lot on fishing, good guy also.
