Neither.
well I have one in each caliber and I would choose my 30-06 over the 7mm because there is more diversity in bullet weights, and I believe that the -06 has more nock down power (per the load) and can be loaded just as hot as my 7mm. I have heard a lot of people that lost game with the 7mm because you can load it so hott and fast and the bullet just doesn't pack the retention behind it to nock emm over as it is smaller in diameter. I shot a 3 pt. blacktail at 112 yards with my 7mm and nocked it right off its feet and thought that was it! It was shakin and I watched it stop and thought that was it. I went and got my dad, waited about 30 min total, then we walked down to the buck and there was more blood on the ground than I had ever seen before! bullet hole right behind the front shoulder and honestly couldn't have been a better shot, poked the deer to make sure it was dead and it jumped to its feet and took off haulin' down through the timber... never could find it!! that was enough of the 7mm for me!
I voted 30-06 just because I have never caught the magnum bug .Killed a lot of game with .270 though I just built a .338-06.Slenk
