Hiked to a lake today
« on: July 07, 2010, 07:43:12 PM »
My friend and I hiked in to this lake today and did some fishing. We caught 13 fish. The water was incredibly clear and cold, went swimming also.

there are a few nice lakes up in the mountains like that. if you guys get a chance, Lake Eleanor in Mt Rainier Nat'l park is a short hike, has some really nice sized rainbows, and is good for swimming on a hot day.

nice pics, the water looks perfect  ;)

In all seriousness those little mountain lakes are very cool. When I worked in the St. Joe we used to hike in to Steamboat and Noseeum lakes. The fishing was pretty good. They have grayling in Steamboat and huge Cuts. We did not "swim" though.  :chuckle:

10-14 inches.

One followed my spinner in and it was way bigger than any of the ones we caught.
