Fawn at river crossing
« on: July 08, 2010, 09:09:45 AM »
I wasnt sure how to post videos on here until a couple days ago so I figured I'd post the videos of a fawn that my girlfriend took a little over a month ago.
We went for a drive to see if we could get some photos or video of some calf elk or fawn deer considering it was that time of year when you should start seeing them. At one spot along the Quinault river we spotted this doe walking along with what looked like a brand new fawn (can't be more than a week old) so we stopped see what was going on and hopefully get some pictures. I think it was like 3 or 4 days before we had a decent amount of rain and the river was still pretty high. Watching this whole thing go down made me almost want to go down to the river and help the poor little guy across if there was some way to do so.
They actually tried 3 times to get across before being successful and thankfully they seemed to doing just fine as you can see.  :)

:chuckle: They actually did run over a bridge right after crossing but it wasnt a bridge over the main river, it was just a small bridge over a creek that dumps it just upstream from where they crossed the main river.

The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.
