North Cascades Flies?
« on: July 09, 2010, 10:58:24 PM »
So monday morning I am planning on going out to a creek up in the high country to try for some brookies and possibly some cutts, but I want to try some fly fishing.  I am new to fly fishing and have no idea what flys would work right now.  Does anyone know of anything that would work in the creeks of the north cascades?  Any help would be awesome!

Try small size 16 parachute adams, 14-16 orange stimulators, ant and beetle imitations.

For nymphs try 14-18 pheasant tail and same size in prince nymphs and zug bugs.

Should cover most of your needs

Mostly you want to shoot for visibility/floatation.   Cutthroat don't need to be fooled by any certain pattern as evidence dby some of the foam creations out there.

Okay, I bought a couple of ants, a bee pattern, a hopper pattern, as well as a few other things like a few different hares ear nymph, and a couple random things... will post a repot on how it goes, was not able to go out monday, but hoping for later in this week.
