Illegal ATV off road use. We need your help!

check out the link and you will see what I am talking about, there is a debate going on in it.  Its the issue of people abusing their rights with atv/motorcycles.  Going places that they are prohibited essentially.

Didnt read the whole thread but this stuck out. what rights? the multiple use rights? I personally work in the powersports industry and have ridden as long as ive hunted.. If you think finding a place to hunt is hard? try finding a place to ride. You would be suprised the number of people who do both. Public lands should allow for both. And not be specified for one or the other. They are public. Why is everyone always bashing another user group on here? hikers hate hunters, hunters hate riders, Horsemen want the trails to themselves. Nobody wants to keep public lands open to the public. If everybody keeps trying to lock it up for themselves nobody is going to be able to use it. It gets old.

Same old story as it was 30 years ago. Jeeps were the big issue in those days. The vehicle has been changed to ATV/OHVs so nothing has changed except more ignorant greenies trying to dictate what I can and can't do in their precious national forests. I, as an ATV owner don't need your assnine input on how your gonna try and control me. It won't happen.

campmeat they just dont relize that a quad is lighter than a jeep.pluse they are working with junk sience. after all it thier buddies that spin their wheels not me i tread light so we can keep our roads open.

I tread lightly myself. I just get irked when ATVs are always getting blamed for stuff that isn't their fault. What gets me is you can drive, jeeps, bulldozers, log trucks, skidders, dump trucks, army tanks, motorcycles, run cows all over the national forest and never a word is brought up about them. My gas tax from my ATV plus ORV sticker pays for something. I think thet should tax the crap out of bicycle owners just like an ATV. I hate bicyclists with a passion. They are the most self centered a-holes on the road. They have no manners, cause traffic problems, don't pay gas taxes or license thier bikes etc.

The atv`s don`t bother me or the majority of the hunters were I hunt. It`s a green dot system and they have to stay on the green dot roads just like the trucks. Over the last few years the ATV`s have increased and every year there`s more and more people that drive off the green dot roads. This year the sherrif`s department and the gamies wrote numerous tickets for helmets and for driving off the roads. The ATV riders are the only ones being hurt here in my book. The guy`s who aren`t staying on the roads are giving the ones who do a bad name. I think it`s only a matter of time before they ban ATV`s in this GMU. Just my 2 cents.

Think we all need to remember that hunting should be done on your feet and not on your ass no matter the transpo. ATVs have a place and that is not in the wood's during hunting season.
For those of you that thrash and trash with no respect for nature or other hunter's. Pack a lunch. The so called sheriff will do nothing but tell them to leave even if they did get caught. I am not a tree hugger but I do have respect.

I guess if you spent allot on your ATV. Maybe just as much on your jeep. Take it personal if you wish. I know that the respect thing doesn't apply to you.
