My slump is over!!!!!
« on: July 10, 2010, 11:31:59 AM »
I shot this one this morning  :whoo:
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job." I thought I would tone it down so I switched from a 150grn to a 135grn. By the way I'm not familiar with the term "pelt"? Is it the same as fertilizer?  ;) .270 wsm too much?

Went out with SWAG this morning he called this one in to about 40 yards he would have come closer had I not intervened. I'm shooting 135grn match king hollow point loaded with 72.5 grains of Accurate Magpro.

Very nice dog, and nice shot placement as well. I'm wondering if thats what my first one will look like when i get him with a 12 gauge rifled slug?!!! I'm on a mission to make it happen, had one at 25-30 yards the other day but i blew my shot by not being in a good shooting position, thought i'd be patient and wait for him to come back but it never happened!! :bash:   Wont make that mistake again.

That is what my plan was untill he decided to split open like that. What a selfish coyote!

I think what you mean to say is that this was a nice healthy coyote who just happened to be in the prime of his youth  ;)
