Food plot pic's (More pic's 8-15-10)
« on: July 11, 2010, 12:10:31 PM »
finally got a camera out. We put in a food plot from Blacktail Specialties to see how it will work, I only had the camera out for 2 day's because we had to go back in to put up the tree stands and I couldn't resist pulling the card to see if anything came in. The plot is only a couple weeks old and we already have deer movement in it. I'll keep you updated to see how it works. We will be putting up one more stand and 3 more camera's this week.

Looks like you have something good there!  Treestands for blacktails...I like it.  That's my strategy this year too.  No food plot for me, maybe next year  :rockin:

I'll let you know how this one works out. So far it is growing rather well but we are going to put a top coat on it to thicken it up a bit as soon as we see some rain in our future.

:yeah: That's the plan, him or his older brother  :chuckle: . A friend of mine and I set up the plot so his wife could try and take a buck with her bow. I hope it works  :archer: .... I'm going to pull the cameras tomorrow and see what else is hanging around so far, we shall see I guess.

Pulled the camera to find the deer are frequenting the plot, I'm going to have to put my cam in a differant spot cause the day's pic's are all washed out from the sun. Either that or the cam is screwed up  :dunno: . Here are just a few of the resent pic's.....

Yes, there are two in that tree, one for a shooter and one for a camera guy. We are putting up one more in another tree for a second camera angle. Right now we are working on getting water to the plot to help it grow better  :bash: . It's doing ok but could use a little H2O.

If you want to look into it you can go to the sponsor page on my website and click on their link. His plot's work awesome, it's a little thin right now because we need to get some water to it but we have critters there consistently.

Awesome, I hope it works as good for you as it is for us.

(ForksHunter68) Bear hunting is going slow  :bash: Only been out a few times with no luck. Found some fresh sign though so I'll be sitting on that the next time I go out to see what shows up.
You having any luck?

only went out opening day so far ...working 4 10s so not much time to get to the good places after work. Opening day seen one bear about 700 yards couldnt get a stalk on him...i hunt high country so 7oo yards could end up being a 3 mile walk through thick reprod. also seen the biggest blacktail of my time here on earth. Masher 5 point hopefully get some pics of him soon. And most importantly a dead bear tonight!!!

I'll admit, this site is a challenge. I measured over a 1/2" of rain at my place in Castle Rock this weekend. The soil is wet everywhere surrounding this plot; yet the plot itself is bone dry. Everything still looks good, though.

Got the area watered this morning. It took 11 garden hoses to reach it, but it's done. Had a deer feeding below me for a couple hours.

He does look a little thin. You have a great food plot going on there, I've spoke with BTS about putting one in at my place and seeing yours I know they work. Great Pics
