scouting 336 this weekend.
« on: July 12, 2010, 08:25:14 AM »
Going over to scout 336 this weekend.  Going to leave Friday after work and come home Sunday.  I'm going to look for a few spots to hang a treestand or two.  I will take some pics of my scouting trip and post them next week.  Anyone else going over scouting this weekend?

Our crew going to 340 this weekend set some cams and kick around.

I'm heading over this afternoon right after work.  Brought a couple treestands with me.  Might see about calling in a coyote or two also.

Come home this morning. I got two stands hang yesterday had a small group of cows run by me when hanging the second stand.  I think it should be a good spot.  I have shot 3 elk from where I hung the other stand.  Should be a good year.

Well I got back late monday.  Trip wasn't a really success but we saw a few animals.

A 3x3 bull, a doe down really low, 2 does up top, a grouse, coyote, and a turkey haha.  It was nice just getting out of the house and going a little camping!

Headed over next week for a few days. If you want to meet up, I plan on camping near the Sand Cr trailhead (6 miles up the 1902; Ravens Roost Rd). There will probably be 5 or 6 of us scouting and we plan on covering a lot of ground. Hopefully, taking a bear or two Sunday.

I WILL post pics

Did some scouting up there myself this last Wed.  Didn't see anything except turkeys and deer, but saw some good track.  Real dry, so it's hard to get a good idea whats going on.  I'd love to be up there after a nice rain!

Got back a few hours ago. I found the "big" elk. I know I said I would post pics, but all the elk were at last light and didn't even cooperate for the video camera. Saw a lot of fat grouse and some nice goats, too.
