Howdy.  Post #1 on this board for me.

I'll probably be out on the opener.

I lost my two best spots (one got drawn out of the boundary year before lst, one got sold).

Don't really have any idea where I'd go early, but it's always fun to wander and you never know what you might find.

Best of luck to all of you.

Spent the weekend looking around 3911 a little.

Can't say I'm too excited.  Finding public land was hard, and finding elk tracks was even harder.

I'm sure I'll rally and find my way out for the opener, but I'm not sure where I'll try.

I knocked on a couple doors, but got no permission.   I'll probably have to get more serious about trying to obtain permission, but I just hate door knocking....

Anyone actually seeing elk in 3911, even if it's on private ground?

P.S.  August can be warm.   On the chance that you get one you want it cooled off quickly.  If any are interested, PM me and I'll reply with my cel number.   I'd ask for yours in return.  And, if you get one down and I'm in the neighborhood, I'd help get it out.   I did this with a few other guys in years past and i worked well to get elk out, but they're hanging up their rifles and golfing these days.

Starting to feel the itch.   I think I'll have to make it out this weekend....... but man will it be hot out there.

Anyone else thinking of going?

I think I'll need to limit it to first hour of sun light and then go find something else to do.

I'll be there, but not sure where yet. Using it for more of scouting with a rifle. Got lots of season for this one, unfortunatly didn't make it out to pre-scout (live 2 hours away). It is early and hot, so I would be surprised to see much. But who knows. It is supposed to hit 90 degrees or so there on Sunday. So bring some big coolers if you go.

Its going to be intresting in part of the 3911 on Cle Elm ridge when they build that new solar plant and ruin the hunting up there!!
