Little Naches for Disabled
« on: July 15, 2010, 08:20:03 PM »
I've never hunted Little Naches before but we will be over there this year and i am wondering if there are some areas you can hike into that hold elk but are not to strenuous since one guy in our party has some problems preventing him from being able to hike much?

I'm not looking for honey hols of course just wondering if there are better areas than others to start scouting? I hope to get over there in 2 weeks to start poking around for myself.

Fawn Creek (1912 Road) is disabled hunter accessable (closed to vehicle traffic except disabled hunters), but there is many others that hunt it also. It has grown up over the years so teh clear cuts are not teh best any more, but the elk do travel backa nd forth with the pressure.

Be sure to have the disabled hunter to apply for the key to the gate sin teh Nile and Bumping area (both are in the Nile unit). If he gets picked for eitherone, get in touch with me  ;)

Little Naches is a heavily hunted are even with the disabled hunters, so there is no really go place to go, but to sit and hope others push the elk by you.

Not any more, they stoped that a few years ago, because the road was muddy and needing to be graded and graveled, but they are not going to spend the money.

Thanks for the info. Gasman I'll start scouting that area first. Unless i missed it in the Reg's. how do you apply to get a key to the gates? Is it a draw?

It is  a draw, but you have to contact the WDFD (teh person in charge of teh Disabled hunter, I can not remember her name  :bash: )for the cards to put in for the draw. They do the draw in Aug, so i would get on teh horn now be sure you get the proper info.
