A few photos from the last couple weeks.
« on: July 15, 2010, 06:19:57 PM »
Two weeks ago I took this picture of this buck as he was leaving a clear cut.

He is walking a trail along the bottom of a cut bank that also has a trail coming off the top. Knowing this was a risky spot for a camera, I decided to chance it with a cheap Wildview camera since I have seen deer here in the past. I put it out on the tenth with an external battery and a two-gig SD card. I got three pics of this 3pt, three pics of a real small 2pt as well as a few pics of a doe.

Three point

Two point

This camera is set-up next to a beaver dam to get an idea of how big or how many beavers are in the area, but over the last few weeks it has managed to not trip the camera. But I have gotten a few pics of other critters.

Young coon. I didn’t know any were around this area but he has been around at least twice now.

Doe and fawn. They started to cross the dam, but doubled back after a couple photos.

These baby ducks have made appearances on multiple mornings.

Just like last year, I have lost track of the bears in early July.  :bash: Without bait it can be hard to get pics of them on a regular basis this time of year.

With CF late permits, I am not sure I would take the three point in the general season, but I would definately have the wife shoot him on opening day. This area gets hammered though. Lots of hunters.

That buck was the only bright spot in over 1500 pics. Yes, 1500 photos in 5 days. I failed to clear some brush about 5 feet away and the wind blew it into the sensor and I had 15 pics of deer and the rest were of nothing.

Yea that one of the bad things about some of the cams is the PIR sensors sometimes pic up the slightest movement from bushes moving in the wind to shadows from the suns movement. Then if you leave your cam out a while and the brush grows it can get in the way not to mention snow or dry weather causing the branches to lay lower.Good thing about those blacktails is they typically dont travel that far. Hopefully a big boy will move into the area for you during the rut.

That is one hell of a beaver dam. We have beaver's on our property and they have not built anything quite that large -yet. :)

Nice! :)
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
