Leupold Mark4 tactical scope
« on: July 18, 2010, 07:45:06 PM »
Anyone have any experience with these scopes? Im curious about the windage adjustments and if they are useful in the field for hunting situations. My buddy is thinking about this scope for his .300 ultra mag. Thank you in advance.

they are a great scope i love them but hate the $ :chuckle: they are about as high as quality as they get i looked at 3 scopes for my big gun and the choices were vx3 mark4 and nightforce having shot them all i went with the vx3 8.5-25 x 30mm i liked it just as much as the others and having shot them all i liked them eqaul and 1k was a lot less to hand over then the cost of the night force and mark 4 but i did pay like 150 and bought the mark 4 rings :chuckle: they are great 2

I have one. I would not suggest one for a hunting rifle if it is a only gun. if it is to be used for LR hunting specifically, it is a good scope for the $$. I have had m3 cams on hunting rifles and prefer thm to the mk4. the main reason I do not likethe mk4 is the elevation turret can be on 3 different "0's"......depending on which spin the turret is on. the m3 just shows the range, the mk 4 counts minutes and complete revolutions get added to the mix.

good scope for those times you have to fiddle with it, a PITA when you get a snap shot at a critter.
