Hoyt Carbon Matrix
« on: July 18, 2010, 08:43:44 PM »
I have seen the advertising and have seen only an all too brief review in Peterson’s Bowhunting magazine (I find their bow tests very unsatisfying, in general).
Does anyone own one of the Hoyt Carbon Matrix bows?
What poundage and draw length?
What arrow length and type?
What point weight and fletching type?
What sights and release are you using and what groups are you achieving compared with the bow you replaced?

I know folks don’t want to admit “buyer’s remorse” too quickly but I would really appreciate an unbiased report on this machine.

Thanks for any input.
K
“The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter can not be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.”

i do not own one but i have shot 2 diffrent setups both around 70 lbs 28-29" arrow 100grain tips the bow is a little pricey for the bow i felt i own many bows and like hoyt so i am not biest and i do own hoyt bows. bow shot very nice not very much vibration i figured it would be a little higer then it was because of it being lighter. i would give the bow a B+ overall. hope this helps

I've shot one a few times I don't think its worth as much as shops are charging.  They say the riser is bulletproof but out of all the bows that I've owned and been around risers never seem to be a problem.  I think limbs and cams will always fail first.

I bought my maxxis before I shot the carbon matrix. If I would have shot the carbon matrix before the maxxis I would have been out another $7OO. I love my maxxis to death but that matrix was somethin else...

why pay twice as much for 2-4 oz wieght reduction? The maxxis is pretty much the same just a tad heavier. :twocents:
