Never been coyote hunting before......
« on: July 19, 2010, 09:14:44 AM »
So I don't have any idea what their carcasses look like.  In my head, I could use one to show my son how to field dress a deer.  Are the internals of both animals similar enough to do this with or will this plan not work at all?

The stomachs are going to be different, but everything else will be in the same places. It would be good to practice on I would think.

I would wait for winter, the coyotes are starting to look nasty. Make sure you youse gloves.
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job." and be careful of the fleas.  Bubonic plague in endemic in the rodent population in parts of Washington, and 'yotes like to eat rodents...
