You will need a special permit to hunt in 342.  340 will have elk just do your homework and you can find them.

Have you looked at 342 archery seasons?

Deer ?,
the only time I hunted Deer in 342 was the first time I got drawn for Observatory C for Elk (15 years ago), I was also drawn for an "any Buck" in 342, spent a couple days over there and got a small forked horn (2 pt)
Deer, saw a lot of Elk sign, but no elk, and very few hunters.
I took the deer in to Owens in Cle Elum, drove up to 340, and shot a spike (Elk) the next day.
I looked for Turkeys in the area back then too, but other than fishing at Lk. Wenas for browns, I haven't been back.
Sorry...  :dunno:

There's a few buck there sept 1-19 3pt min , just not your best bet for deer . 340 sucks inless you get real high there hair loss hurt both those units bad.

340 holds a lot of deer, just no bigger bucks.  Tons of does, and a fair amount of smaller bucks.  I haven't seen big deer there, but several guys in our hunting group have.  However they haven't seen the big ones in at least 5 years.
