I put in for general deer, likely at least next year until drawn.

50CalJim and I are in for the Big Game Combo, we hunt in the west side of Montana and also the east side. :chuckle:

Bone, what are you putting in for? With 4 points it must be deer only.

hey guys.. tell yall what,,, i dont know how many people out of state know this,, but unit 270 in western montana,, is THE place for your number one pick.. for mule deer.. our area,,<my outfitter>  is right across the highway <93> from it ,, and my oh my..if you had a tag there and shot anything less than a booner buck,, youd be foolish..my boss is paying out of his pocket for me for a guarentted big game combo tag and you can bet 270 is my first pick,, it is also a great place for good sheep,,,, for elk it is a general hunt affair..i havent killed an elk for a few years, and we are kinda not soo busy this year,, so he will get me a tag.

Ya, not much more than a half court shot at the buzzer chance for me drawing this year, I am banking on M-Ray pulling the tag so I can head over again this year. Looking at getting him his biggest deer to date, will be working my ass off to get him a 300+ bull as well :chuckle:

Good my application out before I left.  Going in with 3 points for the combo, then when the special draws come out Ill be putting in for 270 for deer, and the breaks for archery elk.

I just spent my $700 on the big game combo...+deer super tag.  My first time ever applying in Montana.  I got invited to put in with a small group of guys, one of which is a local guide, so we'll see what happens....heck, I'm not even sure what part of the state we're gonna be hunting in if we're drawn...

"Wow I'm getting guided for Elk too! I wonder how much this is gonna run me I better let momma know the hunting allowance is going up this year!"

LOL, you know you couldn't pay me if you wanted too. I'm hoping to have my own tag so I will be over there anyway, another strong back to help pack out my bull is payment enough :chuckle:

Actually you shouldn't feel obligated, if you have plans already for elk you won't hurt my feelings, I'll just go over and take pics of all the bulls you missed out on and post them for you later :chuckle: Kind of like I did with all the deer picks this year, not that I'm trying to rub it in..............again :chuckle:
