I saw a lot of deer and elk but almost no bear sign! It was cool seeing all the other animals though

Man thats not very many, i'll just take my chances with Monroe unit or North Skagit next year they both are a whole lot closer and i dont think  they can get any worse than Kapowsin!

That is still within the 5-15% success rate that F&W likes to see.

Isnt that 5-15% kinda low for big game in washington? arent most deer units closer to 20-25%?

Bio's have told me that 5-15 percent is what they want for spring bears. Any more or any less could change the amount of permits.

Thats about what they avg each year isnt it? I kinda thought there would be bear running around everywhere since they gave out 100 tags!!!! I see more sign up north right outside of town then I did in almost two weeks of hunting there

I believe there were 150 permits for Kapowsin

Yup for 2010 it was 150 permits. They reduced the amount for 2011 to 100 tags, the 2011 spring season are the permits that are listed in the current big game regs.

check my post on bear hunting in the Kapowsin, it should be hard to get one in the general season
