What road is that posted on??
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Yep, I got a bull tag.  I seen them up Hwy 504. I thought the gates would be closed, but I didn't expect to see no trespassing signs. I was hoping to hike into the upper part of the unit.

Sounds like the new owners of the upper lake area are gonna keep us out.  However, what happens if you hike in from a different road??   :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a link to the Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Development Company website which lists the land that was sold.  It was labeled "Shultz Creek."  It lists it as sold but you can click on the icon to the right which will bring up a PDF document which has the property boundaries overlayed on a WEYCO road map.  Access to the Fawn Lake area will be more difficult due to this sale that's for sure.  If you have any troubles with the link, contact me and I will send it to you.

Any idea who purchased the property?  Is is a private party or another timber company?

I watched my uncle about 16years ago kill a good bull in that drainage when I was 13!  We also saw 3 more bulls taken that morning by other special permit holders...back in the day when they had a early rifle tag for master hunters.  What a treat that tag was.  My family started hunting there before the mountain blew.  I understand that it was private land that can be sold.  I guess I should just be happy to have had that experience. But I am not at all.  What an experience driving to Margaret and seeing 100 or more elk.  It would be nice if other generations could see that too :dunno:

I also spent a lot of time up in that area we called the High Lakes growing up. Fawn Lake, Forest Lake, etc.  It pains me to think that access to that area is closed now.  That is some beautiful remote country.

Why would a Tree company keep out hunters??????

Fish and wildlife sent me a post card saying they are trying to get permision for hunters on private land. This might be the land they are trying for.
