Unit 379 Ringold?
«
on:

Has anyone hunted here before?
I noticed that they have an "any mule deer" harvest for the early season.
Is all the land on the Nuclear site? What is the access like?
Thanks for any help.

i've never hunted there but i'm thinking about it next year, actually most of the land is public land, i grew up 15 minutes away from there and some of the biggest mule deer i've ever seen are down there, but its muzzleloader and archery only and the deer are few and far between

There's been a huge poaching problem here in the last several years, there were a few hogs around but most have been killed. Now there are so few deer and so many hunters that I never bother any more.

Wide open country, burned last year, poaching, lots of people, all of the above have turned the unit off for me. Use to see deer but not many anymore. I live 30 minutes from it and I dont bother any more. Just my thoughts.

dont forget the shotguns with slugs its not just muzzleloader and bow. personally i dont think its that great been out there a few times but never seen anyhting that got me really excited about it. have some friends who love hunting out there but there are a lot of hunters and i just dont think its worth it i like my solitude when im out hunting.
