Yellowstone 2010 PICS

A reminder-  it is unsafe and illegal to approach wildlife within distances posted all over Yellowstone NP.  In my case the ELK came to wherre i was from a couple hundred yards initially to less than 20 feet at times.  I slipped down between two three foot high rocks and moved as little as possible during my close encounter.

Here's where they were when I first set up- check out the calves having a good time.     The Pansonic Lumix camera has a 12: 1 zoom that sure is handy

There's a place along the river called Fire hole thats fun to swim in. its super warm, hence the name, and you can jump into the low rapid/falls and go down river. make sure your a strong swimmer if you do it otherwise its really hard and dangerous to try to swim back up river
