The White dumps into the Puyallup in Sumner, right near the junction of 167 and 410.  The Carbon dumps into the Puyallup upstream between McMillan and Orting.  If I remember correctly the only other thing dumping into the Puyallup between the White River and the Sound is Clarks Creek.

I always tell people the Puy is ready to fish for Salmon when you can plow it and plant potatoes. No need to floss them fish will take eggs and even corkies with scent.

I figure I'll give it a try this year, as I'm only a 1 minute drive from Mama Stortini's.  I've got my setup for the corky and yarn ready to go.  Got the usual red, yellow, orange and green's.  Might add in some sand shrimp. Any suggestion on hook sizes?  1/0, 2 or any other?

I've not drift fished before.  From what I can tell, it's "cast 45 degrees upstream, let it float down, and when in doubt, set the hook."  When your gear hits the end of the drift, do you leave it floating for awhile, or do you retrieve right away and start all over again?

just play it by ear and modify as needed or appropriate. sometimes I'd cast across the river, set the bale, and let it drift then reel in. sometimes I'd start a slow reel immediately, sometimes I might let it drift a while before closing the bale. Just depends on where in the water I'm trying to get my presentation.

I will say last year I caught a number of LIMITS and still C&R's a number of fish on top of that, but i only caught pinks that I can remember. Although my buddy fishing side by side with me did catch some kings. This year, knowing we don't have the pink run, makes me think it would be a bit more few and far between for bites. last year was incredible.
