Unit 117 Wolves

alright fellas i did some scouting in 117 this past weekend and had a great time, saw some turkeys, some whitetail, moose, but while i was up there the landowners/farmers were tellin me that there are wolves up there, they hadnt seen any but seen lots of sign and had heard them, i dont know beans about the area, so i just thought id ask u fellas if its true or if u knew anything about wolves in that area? thanks

They have been confirmed in 113, wouldn't suprise me if they are in 117 as well.  They have tracked them into 113 and gotten trail cam photos.  It's not even a hop skip and a jump for them to go into 117 from 113.

2 years ago there were some on Boyer Mt. saw my first wolf in WA 20 yrs ago in the kelly hill unit.

Yeah, no doubt they are in 113, no reason they wouldn't be in 117 as well.

Probably 5 years ago or so in the refuge we were sitting in a ground blind opening morning of turkey season and they were howling all around us.

Back in '94 or '95 there was a collered wolf found dead near Tacoma peak.

I believe it.  Last year my dad and brother heard some on the refuge one night.  Only a matter of time before they do here what they have already done to the game populations in other states.  :twocents:

did they claim it was a wolf from canada on tacoma peak. I have alos seen the sign in that area.  there goes are small pockets of hunting.
