Local shed buyers?
« on: August 05, 2010, 10:02:27 PM »
I have never sold any horns myself but a friend passed away and his family is considering selling his collection of sheds and there are a ton of horns. Most are deer and many are bleached out and alot of smaller elk horns too. Is there much of a market for bleached out horns that are still in descent shape and if so what price range. He had some dandy rosey browns but those aren't going with this bunch. I would have to count but there are several hundred horns. Thanks nwhunter

prices are way down now. Hold on to them for awhile and wait for prices to climb. I think you'll get a buck or two a pound for white.

Got to agree, prices are way down right now. Better off to hold on to them for a while, not going to get much for them. Prices will be a lot lower if they are bleached out.

Thanks guys I figured they weren't worth a whole lot money wise so will probably encourage them to hang on to them. We may be able to sell a few in lots on ebay and get some money that way for the family. Thanks again nwhunter
