pre-tying leaders for drift fishing question

I pretie my leaders,and cut them as needed,from the bank they have the corkies and yarn already to go,I use only pink and orange...10lb on everything except for the noodle rod,then its 6lb

Do you match your corky to the size of the hook, or to the speed of the water?   Lets say regardless of the water, if you've got a 1/0 hook, you always use a size 10 corky? Or is it the faster the water, the bigger the corky?

i don't worry about corky size too much as long as it's not too big for the hooks i'm using.  i tend to go bigger with higher/murkier flows, but unless you're fishing baitless for steelhead, corkies are kind of a gimmick.  good for floating your bait off the bottom, though.

I use 12 lb main, 6 -10 lb leaders, I very my corky or winged bobber size and color with orange, salmon and pink yarn. Occasionally I will tie up a chartreuse (green) if nothing else is working. I pre tie all my leader with red gammie then put them on a Lindy Rigger (small one that fits in my vest front pocket) and I leave the other end un tied for quick tie up to my swivel.

Just thought I'd thank everyone for their input and advise.  I decided to get off my duff and tie my own.  Bought some gamakatsu's and maxima 10lb, for my 12lb mainline.  Watched a couple of youtube vid's on how to tie an egg loop.  Real easy to do.  Got me some ready to go already.

Nice job.  If you are summer fishing you may want to buy a small spool of 6# test to carry with you in case you think they are getting spooked by your leader size.

I was down on the Puy this morning, and watched a 22lb king landed.  I'd been there about an hour.  Guy that got it was there about 10 minutes it seemed.  He had another on a little later, but it got off.  They're starting to trickle in.
