montesano area access?
« on: August 07, 2010, 09:47:36 PM »
Hey I was just thinking about checking out the Monte area for early archery but don't know a whole lot about the area, I do know there's alot of animals running around up there though. I'm wondering about the area right off of hwy 107 after you cross the river and past the lumber mill. Is there any access around there and I don't mind walking, I actually perfer walking in. If anyone knows anything on this spicific area I would really appreciate any info. Thanks!!

R Benn do you know if thet typically close it down in there because of fire danger in september? I would assume they do, just like all the rest of their land.

you can go out on the melbourne A-line on the left hand side of the road...but once you get back a ways on that line get off that onto some spurs...you wont see much on the a-line..to much traffic...theres some nice cuts a ways back and good timber to hike through

could always hunt the swampland by preacher's slough.  probably better with a boat though.
