Teanaway late season cow tag
« on: August 08, 2010, 10:33:49 PM »
I know that I am new here and do not want to overstep by bounds, but I was wondering who else has had this tag in the past and if you have were you able to get away from people or did the elk seem to be herded up with everyone hunting the same herd?  I live in eastern washington and would be glad to help anyone out with mule deer hunting questions or walleye fishing tips.  Thanks.

I'm assuming you will be hunting with rifle???  If so, when is you season??  I have a muzzle loader bull tag and would be willing to help out, just need a little more info.

It is a rifle tag and it is my dad's.  I want to get over to that area and see if any ranchers would be more willing to let people with cow tags hunt just to prevent crop damage. I think the season is Dec. 18 through Jan. 8.  Thanks for replying 300wsm.

Good luck with the farmers, they can be difficult especially if you don't live in the area. I could probably give you some pointers if you would like. PM me and we can talk.

HHPro, have you been able to get up to that area and do some looking around?  Have you been able to secure any permission if you have gone up or do you just hunt the public ground?

I live in South Cle Elum and I know enough area that I wont waste my time asking since some of the landowners aren't the best to deal with.I haven't been out looking yet but I have hunted here my whole life and these elk are pretty predictable in the winter months.

My season is Dec. 9th-19th and I will have a good idea where they are by the time I'm done with my hunt.  PM me your info and I can pass any info your way.
